Grind fix is done!! (good review)
I called up Weseloh Honda in San Juan Capistrano for the seat belt recall. They had done several so that wasn't an issue. When I mentioned the 1-2 grind, they told me I would have to demonstrate it before they would replace it. I asked if they would give me a loaner for this work and they said no. This was last week. Today I got a call from the service manager saying the parts are in for the grind fix. I said I thought I had to demo it for them and may not be able to do that and he said it's no longer a problem and they will fix it. I asked him about the decel noise with the clutch, but he didn't know anything about that
Anyone in Orange County have a "good rave" story about a dealer? I'm still worried about bringing it in.

Hi Revs29K
I'm taking my car into Weseloe tomorrow. Honda zone has already arranged for a loaner, they pre-ordered the parts, at first they told zone they had to test the car to demonstrate the gear grind, when I told zone, that this would not happen in this lifetime (let me get this straight, the service manager wants to drive my car until he can recreate an intermittent problem by clashing the gears?) zone called me back and said they would just do the transmission repair, but wanted to test the car for the clutch noise. That's OK with me, I'm going with him. They're also doing the seat belt recall. I'm removing my Rick Hessel signature series console cover tonight, will mark the mileage on the dash with a big sticky, and keep a note, and tell them I want to be there when they test drive the car after the repairs.
Any other thoughts from members appreciated.

Hi 2X6spds,
Thanks for the info. Do you have an extended warranty? The dealer asked that when I asked about the loaner. When I said no, he asked if I bought the car from Weseloh and when I said no, he said maybe the dealer I bought it from would give me a loaner.
If you are getting one without the extra warranty, I'll push them on it. I also can demonstrate the decel noise easily. I'm faxing over to them, some of the s2000online correspondence about this.
Let me know how it works out for you.

The first time I went to Weseloe, Kraus, the former Newport Beach Porshce Svc Mgr, wouldn't look at the posts on the problem. He insinuated that I didn't have the problem but found out about it from the internet and that I was looking for a freebie. I wasn't going to go to Weseloe except that my Honda zone contact told me that Weseloe was the best. I'm going to hold my breath for the next few days, because I have to say, I don't have a good feeling about these guys. I hope I'm wrong. I didn't buy my car at Weseloe. We'll see if they really give me a loaner. I was happy that they pre-ordered the parts and waived their demonstration of failure requirement.
