Tranny Fix
Now that my car has been at Cush Honda for a week in Escondido CA, they are telling me that I will not have all my updated trans. and clutch parts until probably next Tuesday. I originally dropped off the car, and left it because they said they would have the parts by the next day at the latest, so they proceed to tear down the car, and then find out that everything is on national backorder.
Dont fall into this loop, have them order your trans parts, and make sure they are at the dealer, before letting them tear down your car. The good news they are giving me the updated clutch, 1-2 grind fix, all under warranty, but now it sits in pieces, and I am at the mercy of Honda.

TDokmo, I've sent you e-mail with my phone number.
My car has been at Pacific Honda for the tranny fix as well as the seat belt recall since Monday last week. I just got off the phone with them and now they tell me that they won't have it fixed until next week!
This despite the fact that when they told me they wouldn't have it done last Friday, I told them that I absolutely, positively wanted it for Thanksgiving.
They're also not replacing my clutch, so I need to find out what you did to get the clutch replaced.

I had an appointment to get mine done at CUSH just b4 I left on vacation but decided to skip it because I needed the car. Glad I did. It's started grinding badly and really need this done but it's my daily driver and can't go without

TFota,
I dont have the grind, but the dealer is going to replace my clutch. We had been working on diagnosing the noise since I bought my (pre-owned) S2000. There was a loose exhaust shield, but that wasnt the problem. Anyhow, I called up after hearing about the update clutch and told the service manager that I had a VERY good idea what the noise was...
told him that I had a friend (plus people online) who had the 1-2 grind fixed along with the new clutch and got rid of the noise. Also, told him there is a new (read:updated) part # on the clutch which is supposed to be quieter...
So, that was all it took for him to say OK. you might try telling your dealer that you have proof that the driveline noise is due to the clutch and that since there is an update part #, you know something is less than ideal with your stock clutch...
In the case of my friend, his clutch failed on him (not necessarily due to the noise). I told the service manager that after hearing about that, I really want to get the noise looked at because I do NOT want to get stranded somewhere...
hope that helps!

Just got mine back from Bellevue Honda, dropped it off on Monday morning and they had a guy (Doug) working on it for three straight days. I made sure they had all the parts in prior to setting up the appt. Turns out the flywheel they rec'd was the wrong one, but the alert tech (Doug) recognized it before it had a chance to hang him up.
No more grind but the shifter feels weird going into the second gear gate with the clutch in at idle. Like it's tight, not rough, but smooth resistance. Time will tell.
The service advisor, Glen Love, and Service Manager, Glen Dubin were both top notch, no BS!

I just got my car back from the shop...they had it since last wednesday..but they were doing other things as well. In fact I still have to bring it back on Monday to get the rear window replaced.
I originally dropped it off to get my power outlet fixed...they had another S2K there having the new update clutch put in...and they told me if it makes a difference on this car they will order one for me. This was on Wednesday. On Thursday, they completed the repair on the other car and it was better so they ordered a new clutch disk for mine. They didnt get it until Monday, it took a day to do the repair and I could have picked it up yesterday, but they wanted to get the rear window done. Unfortunately, the upholstery shop they were going to take it to was closed today, so I have to bring it back on Monday.
The clutch feels alot better, the deceleration noise is noticeably quieter. It is still noisy but doesnt have those noises that you wonder if you should be hearing. It feels tighter...in conclusion one of the best things that has been done to my car.
