Groaning under decelleration.........
Yeah another noise......
I've got all the typical whirrrs, dings, buzzes and bells but for about the last 500 miles I get this faint groaning sound when slowing down under engine breaking (clutch out).
It happens right at the transition between on and off power. If you pass that spot quickly you may miss it but if you modulate the throttle you can hold it at the point where it does it for more than a sec. I can actually feel a subtle vibration in the seat of my pants. It sounds like its coming from the rear end but I'm note sure. Could it be the diff making the sound?
Think its terminal?
Maybe I can flesh the problem out at the autocross this weekend!
I've also had a slight womp womp sound coming from the right rear tire anly audible wiht the top down. Think its just a tire thing and none related.

What I have noticed (which would seem unrelated) is with my throttle, and new exaust which means I can hear is more, there is a burble thingy right at 0 hp crank or just as you let off throttle, but it doesnt send any vibrations. . .
Your not talking about the clutch noise are you? I still have the original noisy clutch and it has gotten soooo bad that even cruising ~ 3300rpm you can hear it, decelleration is just hideous! Well to check, with the car stopped rev engine to 3000 rpm and put clutch in and out, with tranny in neutral, you may hear a noise come and go almost like a rattling.
To check the diff. do some really tight slow long turns in a parking lot - Mine does not make any noise or clunking.
If yours does it may be messed up.

This was covered last week. Its a common problem and get worse with miles/age.
