Default Guess the excuse!

Well as some of you know I have been having problems with my transmission. It clanks really bad on take off and when I let out the clutch while shifting gears.
I am going to take it to the same dealer who tells me nothing is ever wrong with my car (even with the loud engine tick). I will let them hear what it is doing and see what they say. My car has 8k miles left on warranty. Here are my predictions.

1. Its normal for a transmission to clank like that
2. The clutch (aftermarket) messed it up so its not covered
3. My driving style has caused it to go out.

Im really going there for shits and giggles because If its really not covered I will put a new one in. But I am just anxious to see what there reasoning will be.

im pretty sure theyre going to blame it on you, but it could be a possibility that they cover it for you. a friend of mine that had a rsx type s had his clutch replaced under warranty at 40k and we all know he messed up his own tranny. its just the way you talk with the dealer.

It seems to be a commin problem with Ap1s. Clanky transmissions. They tried to tell me that Ap1 Diffs never go out. That they have NEVER seen an S2000 rear end go out and im making that up that they do. They also say they have never heard of a bad TCT or a hole in the top either... haha what a bunch of weenies.

TJ, where have you been taking it? Also, as you know, we have a pretty large local community. Have you had anyone else take a look at it? I know we are only speculating but with the large number of folks in the area clubs, there is a pretty large pool of experience with all years.

Do you have a Honda Care warranty or is it a third party warranty?

By the way, you'll probably see a bunch of us on Saturday if you are going to Outback with us but driving your car may not be an option due to the weather.

Im taking it to RT4 Performance Honda. Its a third party warranty which sucks. I am having Ryan drive it hopefully this weekend (weather permitting) He said he would change out the tranny for me if I got one. Just sucks. Its drivable just very annoying!! I dont really like driving it anywhere now because it really sounds like crap sometimes. You can hear the clank from a distance away
