Default guide to preventing soft top wear?

I've done some searching and seen a couple of pictures but I was wondering if there is a guide to prevent ALL of the holes/wear that comes from the defective tops. I have MY2002.

Thanks!

MUST shave down the round metal piece that rubs against the top. It's as sharp as a razor blade.

Hopefully, someone has a picture of it.

So unfortunately fitting that 10 days after my bumper to bumper warranty expires, I got my first inside tearing on the passenger side. not taking any chanfces so top stays up until I can find a fix.

Luckily, thanks to this forum, I've been keeping an eye on it, and just the other day, it finally snagged. Hasn't broken through to tear, so I can save it.

Now I just gotta fix it. Thanks for the info!!

I also liberally use Shin-Etsu grease on the contact wear points. Slide instead of snag, FTW.
