does anyone happen to have a link to the thread with the guy who wanted to do the NA build on his s2000, but realized he would not be able to reach his original HP goals....he was gung ho from the start, finally realized he couldnt get it though....it had a lot of comments, and even pics+dyno sheets....

im only asking because my friends wont quit sayin i should buy stupid sh$t that i know wont do anything (minimal hp), and i just want a link to show that costs>gains w/o FI...im looking for a specific thread but cant find it at all, ive tried google and our search for about 2 hrs..




edit, i know this sounds like every other guy who sets the way to high NA goal (W/o ITB's) but there was one in specific with great info i want to show them

and that post you posted is not the one i am refrencing.....damnit...

i just get tired of the rolled eyes when i explain the best i can hope for is 10hp< midrange from mods!
i linked them posts based on specific upgrades they suggested, vut there was one where this guy was very persistant...and now i cant find it...

edit, the thread i am talking about, the guy comes out and says his intentions and goals off of the bat, a lot of people posted pretty quickly that it wont be done, and much easier/cheaper to go FI....so, pics were later in the thread.

na..in the thread im talkin about the guy was seriously talkin about layin down some cash for top of the line bolt ons....i dont think he went all out and i didnt check the end of it....his disclaimer, like many, was that if his build did not work, he would at least have top notch parts

i dont remember the date, but it was not recent...like within months for sure, but idk when....i used the search from 02+ and i couldnt pull it, but i know it is not later than 02 for sure lol

 

eh, i think ive sent enough.....for every mod they had, i had a post w/ seriously minimal gains.....allbeit the little bit adds up, you're talkin about some serious money to make it happen....though it takes a different degree of knowledge, the best route for power is surely FI. but i can even show them this thread

everyone agrees.

from throttle bodies, to coil packs, to cams, to intakes, to full exhausts, it will add up slowly, but the amount spent sometimes (to the eye of the beholder i suppose, or the wallet ) does not give comfortable gains...

but sometimes the mods are done for sound/enjoyment....i love my exhaust deffinately no gains...i have a k&n drop in filter, figured if i want a FIPK, ill take off the intake hood

LOL, that is a good thread as well....i will send it, but still not the one i want.....the only issue from that will be them bugging me to go FI!
i dont want to upgrade clutch, etc. etc. but i told them pretty much what im figurin out myself.....
for a lot less than any NA build, or FI, i can mod myself, get better as a driver, and then outdrive you with your NA build

regardless, it would cost less....
