whenever you rear end someone.. its always your fault (at least that's how insurance companies see it). Its very hard to fight that his brake lights were out because even if they were, you still have the responsibility of paying attention and keeping a safe distance.

i would get that bumper beam from the ebay auction ($150) and just buy a new bumper. you're lucky the truck had no damage.

I thought all oem bumpers come unpainted? I don't think there are any color options at Majestic's website. He's probably going to have to put out another couple hundred for painting if he wants a brand new bumper.
