Hagerty insurance for a S2000
Yes, I am a bit worried more so with the price increases of what my standard insurance will cover over an agreed value like Haggerty. I know when I bought it the bank used NADA value which was nearly half what I purchased it for. Somehow I think to standard insurance I will get about half the value as well. I don't like that gamble to save a few pennies. Right now I pay about $300 per year for 6months driving, 6 months storage. Haggerty is full year and last I priced it, about double.

I just signed up with Hagerty to insure my second S2000. Its a rebuilt title 2006 with 85k miles. Very very clean car and just missing a few vins.
I'm 31 years of age, no history of accidents in the last 7 years. Plan to drive only 5k miles annually and garage kept. I live in Charlotte, NC (In the City) which automatically raises insurance rates...
I first reached out to State Farm who is my primarily provider. The agent advised that I would be insured but dependent on the market value of the S2000. I was blunt on asking what would they pay me if its totaled but wouldn't give me any numbers, which is understandable for their normal coverage. He mentioned they could do a appraised value that would be a pay out estimate of $33,xxx.
The price was around $900 annually for SF coverage. After speaking to friends and their history with SF and claims it seems like they're just like any other insurance company. Most likely will give me the run around if my car was totaled for a period of time before agreeing to pay the market vaule..
I've heard great things from Hagerty customers who've dealt with claims. NO runarounds, they cut you a check for the set amount and you're on your way. The option to purchase the car back is also still on the table. They also offer extra converge where you keep the vehicle if its totaled. This was a huge selling point for me.
After speaking to Hagerty they had zero issues with insuring my rebuilt title ap2 for $33,000. Collision is $1000 and Comp is $0.
My quote ended up being $900 for the year.

hoping they are better under Liberty. Had them years ago and they did nothing but try to screw me. When a car was damaged (only claim ever for me against my own insurance) they told me "well we put the car back into its previous condition and your car is used, so it gets used parts" and continued to find salvage parts to get the shop to try and install. They had to outright refuse each part (3 different ones) as defective until they finally gave and bought me a new part. The shop outright refused to use salvage parts for an insurance claim fix. It was completely ridiculous and I dropped them like a hot rock after.
