Default hail protection?

I live in Oklahoma and have a red S2000 in mint condition. Unfortunately, I am without garage. I protect my car with finish care products and a factory car cover.
Still, every time it storms I worry about hail. Anybody know of any products or have any homegrown solution to this problem. May eventually do carport but City of Tulsa may not allow in my area.

I would consider a much heavier all weather car cover.

I'd suggest you seriously look in to a car port. They're not that expensive to build on your own. Just get the dimensions of a design that is mass produced and buy the parts yourself.

You need a garage badly ... That's the real solution, even a carport will still get you from angles. It's really kills the condition of the car, even conventional car care products can do little about. The more you wax, the more it scratches. Same goes with buffing. The way to minimize is sometimes the worst solution.

Or do it the cheap way. Any time you suspect hail is coming , get a blanket and cover the hood , boot and windshield. Then put your cover on top. No matter how good the cover alone can not absorb the impact. I know it sounds funny but 5 years ago it was hailing and my father run outside and throw a blanket over our car. No damage at all while all cars in the area got visible damages.

Hey Jay...where in Tulsa do you live? I am a fellow Tulsa red S2000 owner. I've probably seen you around town.

I have heard using a thick comforter or even an old mattress for the hail storms works well.

Get your car under a roof unless you're always around to throw a blanket on your baby. I shudder to think what even small hail would do to the aluminum hood.
