If you are asking stock vs. stock.. It is the S2k. If modded, who knows. The last generation MR2's were not bad cars at all. The stock S has awesome handling though. I could go into extreme detail but it is not worth it for me.

I would have to agree. My brother is looking to buy an MR2 Turbo (we've driven a few, can't seem to find one in decent shape), and we both agree the S2000 handles better.

But that isn't to say the MR2 doesn't handle well, because I think it handles very, very well.

The S2000 blows the MR2 out of the water. You'd need to modify the MR2 quite a bit to get it to handle really well. The turbo cars are very heavy (very ASS heavy) and the suspension on the 91-92 is such it TOES OUT on lift (your inside wheel). Thus, when oversteering and correcting, the car will snap-oversteer really really violently. You have to get used to it and be quick with your hands. It's not a very safe car for daily driving hard or driving in the rain (I used to own one).

The chassis is also not very stiff, especially the T-top model (most turbos were t-top).

If you get one, get a 93. You get better brakes, a revised suspension in the rear, and ofcourse, a newer car.

That said, they look great and are really fun to drive. But I'm not sure about the price. New, near the end, they were over $30k. Look what you can get for $30k nowadays? It's a great car for the USED price now, but new they are a bit OVERpriced.

I was in the market for mr2t before I got the S and believe me, it is horrible trying to find one in good/decent shape and if you do the price will be overpriced because of its rarity, BUT in the case that you do find one in good shape and decent price, you are a very lucky man and I think I would've gone for the mr2t because I would have ~$15k left in the bank and a very fast, sleek, nice car in my grasps

as for handling, I've briefly driven one (not agressively by no means) and I think the S out handles it hands down

Minboost....lol, I have been looking through posts, first time I have seen your name. How's it going? You will be seeing a lot more of me here since "QUIK" is sold and im getting an S2K

Anyways here is my .02 cents. I honestly think the S2000 easily outhandles the MR2T. The MR2 is no slouch, however I dont ever recall my MR2 being able to take turns as fast as the S2K without feeling some body roll. Dont know if it was because the age of the car, but the S2K just felt real tight going around corners as compared to the MR2 which felt kinda loose. I think if you were using it for auto-x an NA MR2 would be better suited, since you dont have to wait for the turbo to kick in.

The only thing I am going to miss about the MR2 is knowing that I could just about destroy any car that pulled up to me, as with the S2K I plan on doing some basic mods and leaving it at that.

LOL...in conclusion I think you would be happier with an "S" since it will be a newer car.
