Default Hard top ??

I am a new owner of a 2003 Silverstone with balck interior.

Is the hardtop worth having? Is it hard to take on and off? Is there more head room? Is there a rear wibdow defroster?

What about the soft top does it have to be opened every week or so to keep it in good shape??

The hardtop is definitely worth having. It's like having two different cars.

Removal and installation are easy with help from a friend, or with a hoist (see picture below). The hoist I have is called a Harken Hoister. I bought mine from West Marine for $99 it's designed to hold 90 lbs they make one that holds 60 lbs for $89 (I only got the 90lb because it was in stock and they gave me a discount from $110).

Head room is about the same, or maybe a little less than with the softtop, because of the head liner in the hardtop.

Yes, the hardtop has a defroster.

I keep the hardtop on during the week to protect the softtop from the sun. I take it off on the weekends if the weather is nice. My softtop looks like new after 11 months. I would recommend not putting the top down and the hardtop on if the soft top is wet or very dirty.

I only use my S on occasions, and I wish I had not have gotten the H/T. If the weather is not nice, it is in the garage anyway. If I were using it as a daily driver then I believe it would be good to have. Kinda defeats the purpose of having a convertible.
