hardtop
hopefully you didn't put in the receivers that came with the hardtop. I bought my hard top new, and it came with replacement receivers(x2). You're only supposed to use them on ap 1's. The ap2's have the receivers needed already on the car. As per the instructions that came with it. I almost took apart my pillars until I read the instructions fully. I also had some supplement print outs from my friend that works at the dealer. I'll try to find the instructions. It's been awhile, but I remember almost replacing mine just cause I saw the parts in the bag. I hope this helps in some sort of way.
If I can ask, who installed your hardtop? I've never had problems with mine which was installed at the same dealership I bought the car at. Some dealerships I've noticed have terrible service techs and some have excellent. Mine is as tight as a bug in a rug.

A lot of people say this until they want to sell their car.
In my case I have never been a ragtop/topdown type of guy (I have had it down less than 10 times in 2 years) To be honost I wish Honda would have just made a HT only or coupe version of the car. Now that I finally have the Hardtop the soft top has become nothing but extra weight
and is no longer necessary. When and if the time comes to sell the car I will discount the price for the lack of the soft top My last car was stripped of air bags, AC, Powersteering, cruise control, and a few other items and unloading the car was not a big deal, sold all the parts and traded in the car for the S
.
