Hardtopguy sold Spa yellows a while ago for $1800. I don't think he sold for less than his (dealer) cost, although this might have been a special deal from Honda.
The SPA hardtops were a special deal to all Honda dealers. That is why Hardtopguy was painting them and selling them cheaper then the pre-painted one. he offered both.

If your dealer is willing to sell you at his cost, and the price is lower then 2500 (What Hardtopguy Sells them for), Take it. Anything else is above cost. Remember to ship it will cost atleast 350 and tax is another 250. Wieht your dealer, you will pay sales tax, with hardtopguy you will pay shipping (unless you live within driving distance of Cleveland).

I have a 2000 model S and I notice that on hardtopguy.com website that I am required to buy the 2000-2001 Hardtop installation kit. Is this required for the 2000 models HT installation? Cuz it cost about $678.

Lastly, what do they mean by the VIN # above and under 5730. Is that regarding the last 4 #'s on my VIN? any help is appreciated.

The older the car, the more parts need to be replaced to install the hardtop. When the very early 2000 models where made, Honda had not planed to release a hardtop. As soon as they did, changes to the cars had to be made. They started those changes at VIN #5730 in of the 2000 model year. Yes, this is the last 4 digits of your year 2000 model VIN. Lower it takes one kit (Most Parts) Lower it take another kit (Less parts).

Does that help?

about 2300, a great deal is anything at or under 2800.00 to your door. The parts dept works as a separate department within the company and "sells" it to the sales department (it is just how it is) so we internal them for about 2500.00. The parts Dept usually charges the sales department 25% or so which would put you at 2875.00 if they get technical on you. Just buy it from Hardtopguy if you are not in cali near me.
