Default Hardtop Questions

Hey Guys,

I just bought a new hardtop from a dealer. The hardtop was returned and did not come with any of the hardware that is required to mount it. I just got the hardtop and thats it. What parts am I missing and where's the best place to get them. I'm not really concerned about the defroster - just the mounting the hardtop.

Unless you got a huge deal, you should ask the dealer to provide all the parts. If you want to know what exactly, check hardtopguy.com (he shows parts), or ask the dealer directly.

These are some real great instructions, maybe you can figure out what you need.

The mounting hardware is expensive and yo'll absolutely need to have it to install the hardtop. You should get the wiring harness for the rear window defrost with the insallation hardware too. The harness is pretty simple, and although the hardware includes a switch and relay that ensures that the defrost for the retracted soft top cannot be turned on. You'll appreciate your hardtop even more when you have the imroved visibility provided by a larger rear window that is fog-free. I would consider returning the hardtop if it does not include the installation hardware.

So let me get this straight,

1. You bought a new hardtop from tha Honda Dealer
2. They delivered a brand new hardtop, in the Honda box.
3. All that was in the box, was the hard top
4. You paid about 3000 for the Hardtop.

So is that correct?

If all of the above is true, you need to get the dealer to supply the mounting hardware or return the top. The parts you are looking for as part of the hardtop when it is purchased. Even though they can be purchased seperately for about 500. You don't want to paid and should not have to.

Telecaster,

I've found that there are no deals when it comes to hardtops. In this case I'm going to have to purchase my own hardware.

Not true, HTG is offering a NEW HT for $2600 with everything. As stated above the items you will need can be had at the dealer or via HTG's site. about $599 to $799 for the 2000 my kit.

FYI

Here is another owner with the install part you need. NO wiring, but it will mount the top.
