Thanks everyone for the advice. I took the easiest of the suggestions and purchased some Shin Etsu grease from my local Honda Dealer for around $22. A bit expensive for a tube, but it stopped the creaking and groaning.

Now to resolve the misalignment problem. I took the panels off which covers the rear mounts, and found as someone said 5 bolts holding the mounts they don't appear to be adjustable. Any suggestions?

The adjustments are on the top itself. The bolts can allow you to adjust horizontally or vertically. You have to unloosen them and position the top either more forward/backwards, or pan left to right. for fitment, if it is a height issue, then you have to adjust the height of the rear catchers, by loosening the bolt and then moving the unit up or down. There is a PDF somewhere on the board that shows you how to do this. I don't have it handy at the moment. but search for it. Probably under hard top adjustments or alignment or the like...

You need to get the adjustment instructions that came with the installation instructions. They are also in the shop manual.

Met with the district Parts and Service Manager of Honda No. America. It just happened that the GM and Service Manager of the dealership also got involved with the discussion. I took down the installation instruction and a mm ruler to identify the areas of contention. They were really cooperative and their options were completely acceptable. Pictures were taken and a Request Order was made for the 5 or 6 areas at issue. They will get back with me in 7-10 days as to what action will be taken. Thankyou all for your support... Westminster Honda World (I've bought 3 Hondas), but it was arranged by North America Honda. If you have the warranty manual it will outline the proper mechanism for complaints. If not I can provide the steps.

Also, for those who have hardtops, check the installation instructions. You'll notice that an extension to the stopper should be placed just about where the soft top folds. The purpose for this stopper/limiter is to keep the soft top from folding completely. Effectively, the frame of the soft top should place tension against the stoppers of the hardtop thereby eliminating rattles.

I have tried a lot of things, and the only thing that really works is to put cotton balls in the hole on the front strikers
