Default hardtop/softtop questions

ok.. im getting 2k2 s2k

i heard someone say theirs a liner for inside of convert top? to make it look less.....bare...(would cover the "bones" of the top.)

is this something made or did i misinterpret what the guy said.(it was a post i read like 2 weeks back...)

second question. if i got a oem hardtop for....winter/track days.. i was wondering tho.. i know the top just goes down.. and hardtop goes on (with help of the install kit which for a 2002 is the cheaper of the years..hardtopguy.com)

anywho.. can u fully remove the softtop for EXTENDED periods of use of the hardtop (when top is down for an extended period of time i notice that the creases seem to become permanent i.e my friends 2002 has creases even if he leaves top up for weeks just casue he drives top down 24.7 and parks in garage w/ top down.

thank you

if this is redundant just tell me to buzz off.. but ive been searching and perusing for 2 days now.. to no avail

Buzz off!

j/k

Yes, there used to be an intercover for the softtop. It was made for the 00-01 cars and we never updated for the 02+ cars. The frame changed from 00/01 to 02+ for the rear glass.

Removal of the softtop requires from cutting. So it is not a temp solution, but move a perm one.

The creases seem to go away if parked in the sun for a short while.

I purchased a roof liner from these guys a few months ago:

Roof Liner

The price is listed in Euros, and with current exchange rates, it will probbaly set you back $400 - $500 including a bank fee for the transaction. They will not charge you tax because you are outside the EU. They do not take credit cards, and they do not give you a tracking number.

However, they answered all my questions via email and I felt confident, so I took a chance - the top arrived in fine shape and did not take very long to ship.

I have not yet gotten around to installing it. Some of the installing involves velcro and during the winter I thought the cold might not be a good time to get a good bond. I hope to get around to it next week. If you're interested, I'll let you know how the install goes, and I'll try to remember to take some pictures.

I would be very interested in this mostly for noise reduction. Do you know if the top can be lowered with it on? It seems like it would get in the way or something.
