Default Hardtop Transfer

Hi all,
While there were variations out there, I was wondering if you had any easy advice/recommendations on transferring a hardtop from one car to another. I'm buying one locally and my question is whether I should also buy his hardware or just the hardtop alone? Is it easy to reinstall hardware or are there parts that I should just get from a kit? Saving the money would be nice, but I don't want to cut corners. From one AP2 to another AP2. Whats a reasonable price for the harware?

Thanks guys.

PS - I dont think its a repost, but I'll accept the flames if it is.

Just buy the hardtop by itself, then buy this hardware:

http://www.izzyscustomcages.com/S200...pBrackets.html

^^That is the cheapest AND the BEST hardware for the hardtop imo. It eliminates the rattles and wind noise that you get with the other hardware including the OEM.

As far as transferring, it shoudl be pretty easy. Just make sure you have the hardware installed on your car prior to getting the other guy's hardtop. Then it should be an easy unbolt from his car and bolt onto your car.

Wow, that guy is hardcore - I like it! Seems like I would have to remove my softtop to use the kits he sells currently. Am I reading that right?

Ah i didn't notice that the rears required a soft top removal. I only purchased the fronts because I already had custom hardware for the rears.

In that case, PM IIGQ4U. I haven't seen him around here in a while, but he made/makes custom brackets for the rear mount points that *do* work with the soft top. I'd recommend buying the rears from him, then getting the fronts from Izzy.

...Or you can just take your soft top out and get Izzy's full set

From Izzy's website:

"Soft Top friendly "Street" Sets are currently in testing and will be available soon for $125.00*"

Do you happen to remember the thread or who was selling them? I recently purchased an OEM hardtop and need the side catchers to install it.

Isn't IIGQ4U the shady HT guy? Came across the above thread w/ a complaint for him.

Good advice! I remember seeing an awesome thread with great pics - I will try to find it to know how many parts and what they are/look like. I would hate to be missing one measly part...
