Has anyone experienced water in trunk?

I'm guessing the dealership 1000 point inspection doesn't include one for 'water in trunk'. Not on list, not checked, regardless how obvious.
Would much rather have someone that knows cars and is detail oriented check it over, than any dealerships so called certified program.

Or the water got in there after the inspection?

Thanks again for all the good info. I bought the car yesterday. It has an outstanding service history, is completely clean inside and out, and runs great. I dried out the trunk, and I'll clean the drains, etc. as you've all suggested. I've had my eye on S2000s for years, and it's no disappointment to drive--what a great car.

Looks like a really nice car! I love the 08-09 spec.
I'm glad you took the reasonable approach and went for it. A little water in the trunk can be fixed (and you have leverage on the price). Missing out on a S2000 is much harder to fix.

Similar story here. Trunk leak in my 02. Ended up being improper fitment of the taillights as someone had done the AP2 facelift, leaving a gap between the edge of the tail housing and the top of the lip it sits on allowing water to drip down through the hole they had made. Black Silicone ftw
