Default Has anyone grown bored of the S2K...?

Ever since I got my license my goal was to own an S2000. Finally picked one up about 6 months ago and loved it for the first few months. Although now it just find myself.... bored? Probably because its my daily driver. I hate how theres absolutely no power below 6k, and in order for you to get up to speed fairly quickly you have to rev it pretty high and that can get a bit uncomfortable with my exhaust. The suspension is just starting to get annoying, coming out of a long day of work it doesnt really help feeling every bump in the road. All the road noise and creeks are just starting to get to me. And I do wish sometimes I had a back seat. I think this car would be the perfect track car or second car, but it just doesnt provide everything I need in a daily driver. So much that im considering switching over to an M3. More available power down-low and up top, back seat, much easier to live with as a daily driver. I know some of you have owned this car for years and years but for some reason I just dont get as excited as I used to when I get into my S

i drove it daily before in the city and it sucked. its a sports car not intended for stop and go traffic. if you spend 500 buck, get a nice old civic or corolla auto as a daily driver and it will fix everything.

u could also get a ap2 with more torque and add some gears. changes the lack of low end power.

2 years now and I still love it thourghly. I daily drive mine but the roads I am on are more like suburb than city. I am looking for a second car just so I can keep the miles lower.

Agree, the AP2 is a lot more livable around town and at normal driving speeds. It's fairly peppy in the 3000-5000 rpm range.

I forgot to add, I bought my original S2K as a second car, and it became my daily driver because I love it so much. I'm now on my second S2K. In my opinion, the pluses outweigh all the minuses. 28-32mpg is nice too.

28-32 is quite a high estimate for mpg seeing as EPA estimates are 18/25/21...

OP: If you feel that way, you should think about getting another DD?

I don't know ... I love my S to death

All this talk about absolutely no torque below 6k..
How does it compare to a rsx? Cause I know although my rsx is not fast by any means at 3k or so I can zip around traffic fine.
