Mine's currently down due to some problems with my differential and you don't even know how much I miss driving it.
I thought about getting a beater to keep the milage on S low, but I love my car too much.

I got tired of the rear end. I wanted a car with better balance. I have been driving my dad's 2001 Boxster S and like it much better as a DD. I also enjoy the down low torque of the Bosxter and the better appointed interior. You can get a late Boxster in the teens now. One of the best buys on the market if you can find one with low miles IMHO. My dad's only has 35,000 miles and it's in perfect condition. He picked it up for $20,000 from a private sale.

Somewhat but will be a keeper even though it's not my DD. Coworker just got this and tempted to get one or Evo X in probably a year or two in addition to the S. Just need to tell the wifey we need to replace her Civic

I 'm not bored yet. Then again, I've had mine only 2 1/2 months and have a daily driver, so driving mine is still a treat. You definitely need a different DD than the S.....

What lack of torque under 6k? My AP1 does just fine in the city. I've driven cars with more low-end torque, but none with the overall driving experience that the S provides.

I think if you drive any car as a daily, you'll get bored of it. I drive mine about 80 miles from home to school then to work, and then back home. Definitely a strain sometimes, but i guess i'll just have to save up for a beater soon.

I have daily driven my car for two years - putting over 40k miles on it in that time period. I have not grown bored of the car at all. At work everyone goes for rides, so I see how much I can scare them. I had one of my coworkers to the point of him putting his foot on the dash trying to make the car brake

Also try and find some sideroads that you can blast through. It will make the car that much more enjoyable.

Oh and if youre sick of it not having power when its out of vtec, make sure you keep it in vtec as much as possible. Thats how I have cured my long boring drives to and from college every day.

8 months, not a daily. I ride a motorcycle as a daily, so I'm used to not having all the bells and whistles.

With that said, if I had a long commute in a car, I would probably get a comfortable sedan instead of the S.
