Default Has anyone seen or tried this?

Hey guys, sometimes I have the wonderful opportunity to work at my local Ferrari/ Maserati dealership. And whenever I am there, I spend most of the time staring and admiring these beautiful machines. I noticed that there was a black F360 with yellow accents, such as centercaps on the wheels, valve stem caps, etc, etc.. But what really caught my eye was the black leather seats with yellow stitching, which was also present on the dash and door panels. So, it got me thinking if someone has tried or actually done this to their S2k. I have a Rio Yellow and would love to have all the stitching on my seats and door panels done in yellow. Is this possible?? Has it been done?? What do you guys think and recommend??

that'd be nice... i have an NFR, so if i wanted something like that i could steal someone's red/black interior and get away with it ^.^ but red stitching sounds REALLY good

Yeah it would definitely look good in red!!! Wish Honda would have thought of this from the beginning, would have given the car a kind of "exotic" feeling to the interior. Although I believe the interior in the S2k is perfect for me, I think the color matching stitching would have been the icing on the cake!!!

You could get aftermarket seat covers from Katzkin or Classic Soft Trim made in this exact way. Probably run you about 6 or $700.

It'd probably be easier to replace the leather and get it custom done with colored stitching than to just replace the stitching.

leatherseats.com ran a group buy awhile ago for seats, and door inserts and they offer options for colored stitching.

Color changing the stitching is unfortunately virtually impossible.

To do it right, you would have to tear out all the old stitching and then match up the thread into every one of the old holes as not to double perforate the leather because it would become very weak if there were double the holes along the edge. Go with the new covers...

Anything can be done with enough money. I am sure there are some custom upholstery shops that would do it for you. There are some photos in the Gallery I believe of a car with custom door inserts with diamond stitching.
