Either that or it's a theft-defferent device. Basically you have a hidden switch which would turn the fuel pump on before the car will start.

isn't that what the imobilizer system does. if you don't put the right key in it shuts the fuel pump off???

The immobilizer system isn't foolproof though. A professional thief would be able to defeat the immobilizer. Not to mention there are apparently "backdoors" in place to bypass the immobilzer incase you lose your key.

Aftermarket car alarms do the same thing, but the install is usually standardized so a good thief would still be able to defeat it.

A killswitch would be a custom job that would prevent a thief from easily stealing your car. Although if they're professionals, they're probably slashing your top and stealing the seats not bothering to take the car.

Isn't a fuel cut-off required for certain track regulations? I remember not being able to goto a certain track event with my 944 because I didn't have a roll cage or fuel cutoff.
