I know which member you bought these from, and the other testimonials within that thread should have been a clue. I hope you receive a full refund including one-way shipping. I also hope those rear wheels don't get sold again on s2ki or ebay.

well as an update. I thought I would be fair and cut the guy some slack...

The guy's name is

05 S2K Stoner btw

I kept the front two rims w/ tires on them b/c they are fine. I told the guy to refund me for the rears.

The new tires for the rears btw werent even new. In all my excitement over the cracked rear rims I never bothered to check out the "new" tires.

I told him I dont have time to deal w/ this hassle....I said at LEAST return $700 and I would mail back the cracked rear rims.

Alas, I get a reply stating that all the money I sent went to bills and when he came by some money in the future he would do a refund. That was almost 2 weeks ago...emails sent..no reply

What are my options? Someone mentioned small claims court. The problem is I live in CA and he is in New York...

But w/ my grad sschool and work its just a PITA. I guess we have to learn lessons the hard way

Where in NY is he?

I've been hotrodding Hondas for a few years now and I've bought tons of parts countrywide and locally.

In general, NYers are not honest. I will not buy parts from NY or NJ unless I go to pick them up.

Generally, NYers are very competitive and think it is ok to lie about the condition of products. The onus is on the buyer to protect himself. When they sell you a defective product they don't think that they lied to you and then stole from you, they just think that they outsmarted you in haggling over a sale.

Obviously, this is not true of every NYer. This is more prevalent the nearer you get to NYC. I've lived and worked near NYC for about 7 years now and I've noted this in my Honda dealings and in my coworkers.

I'm from Mississippi originally. Of course some NYers would consider me a redneck because I'm not from the center of the universe, NYC. But the truth is I was in the Navy and have seen a lot more of the "real" world than most NYCers. NYers are different.

I'm not posting this to flame NYers. I'm just trying to get the info out that if you are from some small town in the Mid-West where people are generally honest and straight foward to not expect the same from NYers.

Just want to say that NY DOES NOT MEAN JUST NYC. It seems that everyone ouside of the state seems to think that if you're from NY you're either from the city or close to it.

Where I'm from, it's mroe like Mississippi than it is NYC. I agree though, the NYC mentaility is not exactly good...but there are plenty of people that don't live in NYC and have that Mid-west mentality that you speak of (such as me, for example).

"listen the tires can be mounted to the rims, the rims are 3 peice rims they do that most of the time, there not some stock alloy rims that come on stock cars, thats what the shops dont realize, just have them put tthe tires on it will be ok, or just what you can do is cut the tire off yourself and bring it to them, theres just scared of talking the tires off with the machine, what you do is just take a knife or something sharp and cut around the middle on the whole tire making 2 peices the just rip them off, but watch out for the metal in the tires,"

I CAN'T IMAGINE DOING BUSINESS WITH A PERSON WHOSE GRASP OF ENGLISH IS THIS POOR.
