Have you ever hooked up with a chick?
I had a 911 ( obviously not as nice as a Ferarri) and I gt the weirdest looking guys talking to me- over 40 years old living with their mother types
No chicks for sure- I often think they are wondering why you need the car

I've just got to comment on this one! A good number of years ago, a high school buddy and I "hotwired" my buddy's older brother's XK150 Jaguar roadster. We drove it to a place where we thought we could "pick up some chicks" (and yes, we used those terms in those days). And guess what? We did! And we had no place to put them! What a waste.
That taught me something, as we went back to the same place the next week in my Plymouth, and yes, we "picked up some chicks." But then, we quickly found we had no place to take them suitable for what we had in mind.
And that taught me something further. For this objective, it matters not what car you own, but what real estate you own or rent. So, I got myself some real estate, and after that it didn't matter what car I drove!
And I've got to tell you that this was all more than 45 years ago, but I don't think things have changed that much.
Thanks,
Richard

Just because of the car? No. The car does help establish that you're doing well for yourself, take pride in your possessions, etc. Then again, you shouldn't need a car to portray that image of yourself.
No, actually the kids of 45 years ago were more impressed by what car one drove than are the kids today. And, frankly, they weren't that impressed then. Just as long as the car ran, and had room for them!
Kids today more "extreme" than those of 45 years ago? Did you ever see the movie "Animal House?" For me, it is a documentary. If you have not seen it, do so. I'm the guy in it that drops the case of booze, breaks it all, and cries!
You don't "pick up chicks" because of what you drive, but because of what you are -- whether it be 45 years ago or today.
Thanks,
Richard
