I'll plan to head down to the dealership sometime soon. I'm thinking Tuesday. I want to bring my Lude to have it priced but i need to wash it first. Basically, I'll have to buy at MSRP. What kind of options is a must and what kind of options are to be avoided? Silver seems to be the popular colour here. I like the silver and the red... and the black. Not the yellow though. sorry. Anyways I just want a little bit more info before I go check out my options.

forced options are to be avoided, as they are heavily over priced. if you want spoilers and such, get them through Trevor (TAllen) at http://www.handa-accessories.com - sponsor of the board - much less! and no ungodly dealer installation costs.

if you have problems getting one at MSRP, or even finding one, check out the Group Buy / For Sale forum of this site to find one or state that you are looking for one. depending on where you live, if you are in the south somewhere in a major city, I seriously doubt they will just have an S2000 at MSRP sitting there. but if they do, and its the color you want, then it will be...well... quite amazing and you'll just have to bring it home!

Well I just called a dealership and I'll be looking to test drive a 2000 model w/ 6K on it. They're selling it at the MSRP price with options I think. This dealership is saying it'll go fast and I need to put on waiting list etc. while another dealership told me I can just order it and it'll arrive in a month.

By the way. Options:

1)Spoiler
2)skirt
3)security system

Please say yes or no.

I went out of state to get my yellow '01. I live in Dallas,Tx and they had about 8 on the lot at the area delearships. Of all colors but blue. They also wanted 40k + per car. I hunted around on the net and found a dealer in NY that would sell one to me for MSRP + shipping of 800.

I just got a call from the shipper... he is 4 hours away from my house.

They are dropping it off at my doorstep.

It took 3 weeks to get here but I saved ~7k

If you can get around the "sight unseen" or are willing to travel there are many many dealers out there that you can get the car from at MSRP or better if your lucky. Most of these dealers are in the North in my expierence.

Check https://www.s2ki.com first in the classifieds and on the sponsoring dealers section. Use a person someone has refered and delt with before.

howie - NO!

wait for a NEW one with no miles (under 15) for MSRP. I wouldn't settle for anything else.

patience, its well worth it! It took me 10 months to get my car, and Insomniak 7 months. Others' wait experiences differed, but still.. be patient, its well worth it.

Check the group buys and for sale forum. That's where everyoneposts MSRP deals. I'd help you more, but my sweet Melissa (yellow) is insulted! Kidding.

Thanks. I'll definately wait. Though I might as well use the opportunity to test drive.

Still if I do get it (a new one) should I wait for 2002? You can't get blue in North America right? Are spoilers a good option? Skirts?
