HEADLIGHT HELP! PLEAAASE!
I REALLY need help, and the other s2k forums arent much use....basically I'm working on a project where im mounting s2000 lights on a donor car.
I need to know if these will work without the HID computer? IE, is the HID just the one bulb, thats used for high beam? Or high and low?
Also, how many seperate bulbs are there, and which arent controlled by the "computer" i keep hearing about.
I'd REALLY appreciate any help you lads can give me!
Cheers!

Only the low beam is HID. The high beam is standard halogen. The HID bulbs will only work with the ballast. The ballast is not a computer, it is a high voltage source driven by the car's 12 volts.
Mark too.

Yes, the S2000 HID is the low-beam. It's like a bulb, but yes there's a ballast that's necessary to power it. And the bulb itself mounts inside a projector, which provides the shape of the beam.

DO NOT DO ANYTHING. YOU DO NOT KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING AND ARE GOING TO END UP IN THE HOSPITAL. NO I AM NOT KIDDING. YOU WILL GET HURT. IF YOU ARE ASKING THIS QUESTION, YOU KNOW NOTHING ABOUT HIDs, AND WILL SEND 10,000 VOLTS THROUGH YOUR BODY. THIS IS NOT SOMETHING TO EXPERIMENT ON.
To everyone else, please do NOT give any further advice of any kind, you will send this poor kid to the hospital for cardiac arrest.
