I was driving around yesterday for the first time on a warm day with the top up. It was raining.

As I was driving, I noticed something was a heat source. Nothing like stove top hot, but noticeable. I traced it the side of the driver center console. I'd say just above right thigh level [lhd car for international readers.] Is this normal?

I haven't reached 3k on the odometer, so the oil and fluids should be fresh.

Any thoughts?

 

Mine like that I'm presuming it from the tranny. I think it pretty normal I can feel the heat come up through the tunnel sometimes if the wind hit it right.

 

Normal, your tranny sits right under the console.
