Default Heavy-Duty Trunk Springs

Hello all -

I've been lurking on this board for a few months, and finally picked up my '03 S two weeks ago. Not wanting to pay the dealer's cost for installing the OEM front lip and rear spoiler, I ordered both from H and A. (Great transaction, by the way - received my order 3 days after I placed it - wow). My question, however, is this - Is there a trick to installing the uprated springs that came with the trunk lid spoiler? I bought the spring tool from H and A as well, and while the old springs came off quite easily, the new ones are providing me with not much more than frustration!! I have done a search on the topic, but most seem to focus on getting the tool that I already possess. I feel like an idiot having the tool, and still having no success...

Thanks so much for any help you may provide. This forum has helped me so much already, and although a very popular recent post seemed to lament the down-turning of the content of this board, I still think it is one of the best I've seen.

Thanks again...

It just takes a little time. Don't worry, it'll come together.

Hey -

Maybe the moral support was all I needed - I had installed the spring with the hook going into the arm from the front instaed of the rear. Went in easy after i realized what I had done... Time to close this thread. Thanks!!
