Help with alignment 06+ AP2 Square Setup (Toe/Camber/Caster)
Hey guys, I’m in the middle of giving my AP2 a full suspension overhaul. Right now, I’m about to throw on some Ohlins 10k/8k coilovers, a square 17x9.5 TE37 SL setup with 255/40/17 RT660 tires (fenders are rolled, and tabs are relocated), Origin offset bushings, a Karcepts front sway bar, and Karcepts end links. Pretty much the suspension works. That said, I’m getting ready for an alignment next week but can’t decide on the best settings. For reference, the car has a CR lip and CR rear wing. I’m thinking of running -3.2° front and -2.8° rear camber, +7.0° front caster (or close to it), 0° front toe, and 0.24° total rear toe in.
The rear toe is where I’m stuck. Are you guys running 0.12° toe in per side for a total of 0.24°? Or is there a better option for a setup like mine? For context, this isn’t my daily. It’s mostly for aggressive back road driving, and will not see any track time, but could potentially be just in case if i so choose. Definitely not stock anymore. Square setup game is all new to me, I've been a staggered guy for over 15+ years so this is all new territory for me. A little insight on alignment for square setup would be greatly appreciate it.

The static toe setting isn't very consequential as long as its not excessive.
Its an AP2.
So just run it in the middle of the stock rear toe setting. Probably the best blend of tire wear, straight line stability, and agility.
I don't see any need to deviate from stock unless you like a specific type of feel or are going for a specific thing you want the car to do.

Are you suggesting I stick with 0.14 total toe in for the rear? The only aero mods I have are the CR lip and CR rear spoiler, so would that justify going with 0.22 toe in, considering the setup is similar to a CR? Since the suspension will be completely overhauled, I'm trying to find the optimal alignment to avoid losing rear grip. I also plan to run the Karcepts front sway bar, which is like 3 times stiffer than OEM.
I dunno, I ran zero toe on my AP1 for years on track even though with its toe curve many run some toe. I finally added a bit and it feels a bit better maybe? Verdict is still out for me. I noticed the toe curve a lot worse autocrossing it but there, kinda incorporated the behavior into how I drove the car. I mean, the toe still changes just as much under compression and rebound, it just has to change more before it starts to toe out with a bit of added static toe. So it is not like it completely erases the issue, it just changes it a bit. So I am not sure how much benefit (especially on the street) you will see on an AP2. My guess is you will barely notice it at all on the street.

The base model AP2 and the CR come with the same alignment recommendation in the factory book, no?
The factory spec uses a number (+/-) a tolerance.
Just have them align the rear toe to the middle of spec.
Trust me, this doesn't matter as much as you think.
Toe does not affect GRIP. It can't because it does not change contact patch like camber does.
It uses grip to steer the car.
