Default Help with a blind spot while top is up

In Michigan I don't get to always drive with the top down and so I have found a wicked blind spot with the top up! Has anyone else come accross this and if so what can I do? A co-worker had suggested the ugly little fish eye but it's to ugly for me. There is another option that a friend has on their new 350Z. It's something called lanefx. Has anyone heard of this??? I don't want to spend the money if it isn't worth it. It really is pretty cool on his car and the website list a couple of installers in my area, but just not sure. Any one have this on their car or can anyone give me some advice (besides go top down)?

Thanks!

BTW the website is http://lanefx.com if you want to check it out.

Thanks again!

Muz sells a convex mirrior that will help with this. Or you could always adjust your side mirriors in the manner that they were intended to be used. I never understand why people insist on setting their side mirriors so they can see the side of the car. This really does nothing.

Your side mirrior should be a continuation of your rear view. It should be placed directly in your blind spot. When a car passes you it should leave your rear view mirrior and enter your side mirrior at the same time. If a car is next to you you do not need your mirrior to see it you can simply look to the side.

I do this, however with the top up the black top makes it still hard to see in the blind spot. Is the Muz a stick on mirror?

Blind spot mirrors work great and they're only a few dollars at the auto parts store.

Import Tuning Garage also sells convex mirrors -- for BOTH sides, tinted.

And of course ... a blind spot check's best

Thanks! I went to the Auto Parts store last night and I just couldn't bring myself to buy the $10.00 stick on mirror. I think it detracts from the beauty of the car. . . . maybe I am being to self conscious. The blind spot mirror you are talking about, is it the same thing or is it a seperate mirror in addition to my factory mirror? What appeals to me about this lanefx thing is that no one can see it.

Look at the convex mirriors they cover your entire mirrior unlike the small blindspot mirriors.

Wait, I just noticed it says left hand mirror. . . . does it come for the right mirror too?

Here is a suggestion which worked for me. Move the mirrors as far out as you possibly can on both sides. Go drive on the freeway, and you should be able to see the car in the mirror all the time. No more blind spot.

Don't worry after about a week, you'll get used to having the mirrors out like that. And the best part is that it's free.

Since I started auto-xing a couple years ago I've found that I prefer a more upright and "in command" sort of seating position although it may not looks super cool. Whatever... anyway, I've noticed that in this position, there is no blind spot. When a car is coming up on my left I can first see it in the side view. Then it comes in to my periphrial vision before it leaves the sideview. All this means there's no blindspot. In actuality, I find that normal cars have a worse blindspot now. Funny hunh?
