Default Help with Boot for top

I just bought a soft boot for my s2k when I have the top down. Problem is the instructions aren't that detailed, or Im just stupid one. I was wondering if anyone could give me an idiots guide to installing these covers. Thanks

There are two snaps on either side. With the top down, place the cover over the top and push it down over the top. There are little "clips" that hold the cover down in the front and rear. The snaps attach just inside the car, behind each seat.

and a secret- put a towel on the rear deck while installing to avoid scratches!
the front body snaps go on first (can take some time to get them to attach), then just tuck the boot in and fasten the hanging snaps last.
thats how i do it anyway.

There's 4 snaps + the two on the elastic straps on '00-'01. They removed the two in the center on the '02 and up because of the glass window. Personally, I advocate removing the two in the center on the older models, because they're such a PITA to unsnap.

I don't remember who originally posted this next idea, so I can't give them credit. When you snap the snaps for the elastic straps on, turn them so the elastic strap is twisted, rather than flat. If the elastic is flat, the wind will vibrate it like the reed in a musical instrument and you'll have one mighty irritating buzzing noise at 45 mph or so. Many of us took the snaps out of the strap and put them back in from the other side, so that you cannot connect the snap without 1/2 twist in the elastic. However, I'm hesitant to suggest taking anything apart if you're not comfortable putting the cover on.

There should be directions on the inside of the boot.

good point! i forgot about the strap problem- mine rattle at high speeds too, and twisting will fix. but, instead of the twist, i just use a black plastic wine cork- put it between the strap and the car to keep the rattling down.
