HELP!!! Brand New S2k Owner
After 4 months of waiting I finally purchased a White S2k today. After a week long negotiation process I finally have it in my garage
After getting it home, I lifted the hood (and of course after being on this board for so long I knew exactly how to close the hood properly). So I dropped it from around 1ft, and it just bounced back up. After many attempts of heights ranging from 6" to 18" or so, it will not close.
I even tried to push it down gently by hand and it just won't latch.
Help!!!! Is there a simple adjustment I can do to fix it?
Any help would be appreciated, it will really be nice to drive it tomorrow!

Wow, I never heard of this problem.
The problem comes from 2 possible places. Either the latch on the hood, or the one on the frame of the car.
You might want to check and see if there is a spacer that was placed in any of the 2 latches to prevent from smashing up and down while it was being transported via the big trucks.
I know there are rubber spacers for the shocks sometimes, but there may have been one in your case in between the latches.
You might wanna check that out.
Lastly, never use excessive force.

1 ft. - 1 1/2 ft. is not enough. Drop the hood from just about chest level. Yes, it seems like it's not necessary. Yes, it is necessary. It will work.
If in the event you actually really do have a problem, there are stops that can be adjusted to lower the latch. There are posts on this board concerning the adjustment. Chances are very slim you have a real problem.
And, I might add --- never push on the hood!

Thats odd...I drop mine from 4-6" and it slams shut every time. No need for the chest level drops for me
On an added note, the body coloured latch that is found on the underside of the hood does have soem paint chips on it. do you think this is just "wear and tear" or shouldn't the paint chip?
Thoughts? suggestions?

Yeah, I was a little uncomfortable with the eight-foot hood drop at first, too. Now that I think about it, mine is a little more forgiving now, like yours, Tox. But then again, the loud clang attracts so much attention in the gas station parking lot, maybe it's worth it...
