There are four rubber stoppers that you can adjust to lower the drop level of the hood. Two are at the front of the hood near the latch. The second two are about midway between the front of the hood and the back along the outside seam of the engine bay. They look just like the front stoppers.

I turned mine a quarter turn and it made a huge difference. It went from a mid-chest drop to a waist height drop.

Loud, yes - but it works.

Peace.
This works for me, too.

I forgot to mention that you should turn the bumpers by hand in a clockwise direction. No tools required.

It seems that Nin009 is right on the ball. You shouldn't need to drop the hood from chest high, just because that works. The following extract from an old thread verifies that Nin009's adjustment method is the correct one so that it closes properly from a foot drop:

"Also, you could try adjusting the rubber bumpers. They don't look adjustable, but they are. Grab them with some pliers and turn clockwise. Try a quarter turn and see if that helps. I think I turned mine about 1/2 - 3/4 turn."

Mine's almost 2yrs old now, and I have to drop from at least 18" (waist level) to get it to latch every time...
