HELP on Buying a NEW S2000 05' UK model
I am about to buy a Brand New S2000GT from Honda UK and require some help before I invest 26-27k on the wrong model/year.
Question :- Has the S2000 2005 UK model got a different Rev Limit to the 04'? The official Honda Website reports peak power at "8300 Rpm" for the 05' spec.
I was under the impression that this car peaked out at 8700 Rpm.
If true, is this due to a ECU/Map change?
Also, any general advice on buying this superb car would be greatly appreciated.
Many Thanks - Dave Smith.

You must be looking at the specs for the US model.
In the US (and Canada, I assume), '04s and '05s have an 8300rpm rev limit because they have a different engine - it's a 2.2 liter as opposed to the 2.0 liter in the rest of the world.
Just go to the UK forum on this site and ask - I'm sure there are plenty of UK members who can help you out.
Dave.

??? The 2003 S2000 with the F20C makes peak power @ 8300 rpms according to Hondanews.com : Link
Its the same for the 2000, 2001, and 2002 USDM models.
And of course, for the rest of the world (UK included) which still uses the F20C, peak power comes in at 8300 rpms for the '04 and '05 models as well.
The '04 2.2L USDM F22C model has a redline of 8000 rpms and a fuel cutoff of 8200 rpms. It doesn't make peak power at 8300 rpms because it doesn't rev that high
The redline on the F20C is still 8900rpms, with fuel cutoff somewhere over 9000 rpms. Horsepower on the F20C drops off after 8300rpms. Maybe thats whats confusing you ... Peak power is not the same as redline.
Your '05 EU spec S2000 is the same as the '04 model, don't worry.
