[QUOTE=WhiteS2k,Aug 31 2004, 06:49 PM] Was any work done on your engine recently?

PCV = Positive Crankcase Ventilation. It is a one way valve that sits on the top of the engine and is connected by a tube to the intake manifold. A "faulty" PCV valve would not normally set off a CEL.

The only sure way to know what's going on is to pull the code.

Well, $77 dollars later, I found out that my fuel cap was the problem....And that was the one thing I thought I could rule out....The last time I filled up was a month and a half ago and the CEL light came on at about a half tank..Go figure!

Well, at least you have an answer. I am surprised by the price tag though. When you said: "I checked my gas cap and it was fine, on tight.", did you actually turned and clicked it (several times) or did you merely checked to see if it was tight (without clicking)? Did your service advisor recommend a new gas cap or did he/she say you just need to click it more?

For your reference it is useful to know that the OBD system is required to keep the error code stored for at least 40 full ignition on / ignition off cycles. So even if the light went off, you will be able to pull the error code with an OBD II scan tool.
