HELP!!!! Engine Might need a New ROD BEARING
My car has 15000 miles one it. It was due in for an oi change at another 1500 ( i change every 3000) i noticed a ticking sound. I took it to the dealer it only had 1 quart or less of Oil. This was after hours, so the tech that was there was very helpful. Basically he thought it was just low on oil. Apparently it wasnt. The tick continued. He says its a ROD BEARING that was SHOT!!!!!!

Something doesn't sound right.
1. How did the engine loose 4 quarts of oil in 1500 miles? Did you mean to say that it was over 1 quart low or that there was only one quart left in the engine?
2. By 15,000 miles, you should know how often to check for oil consumption.
3. Did the low oil pressure light come on?

You might have a scored #4 cylinder. The ticking sound is the most common initial symptom. Catastrophic engine failure might be next.

Note that AHM has blamed the #4 cylinder failure on the customer allowing the oil level to go too low. Some of us suspect that the #4 cylinder failure might be the cause of the oil going too low, rather than the result. In my case, the car only had 650 miles on it and was never low on oil.
Keep us posted. If it is a #4 cylinder failure, Honda has typically paid for the repair under either warranty or "customer one time courtesy" repair, depending on whether or not the customer's negligence for allowing the oil to go low could be blamed. The reapir costs about $10,000 give or take, and takes about five days of mechanic's time after the parts arrive at the dealer's.

If you let your oil get too low, Honda SHOULDN'T replace your motor. However, they MIGHT just as Barry alluded to - out of good will.
It does amaze me that people think Honda is obligated to replace an engine on something that looks to me like customer negligence....not trying to bag on you, 4ig, but checking the oil is YOUR obligation and failure to do so is not anyone else's fault but yours.
Additionally, Honda doesn't replace bearings or rods or pistons...they just replace the whole block - FYI.
Good luck, but it sounds like you are fighting an uphill battle to me...
