Paragon Honda thought I was some clueless kid and quoted me some ridiculous prices... needless to say, they didn't get my business. I do believe they had a yellow on the floor.

Went to Open Road, but try the Honda dealership up in Nanuet...

Planet Honda on Rt. 22 in Union had one about 2 months ago, and Honda of Essex in Caldwell had one about three weeks ago (although they were asking $2.5k over MSRP...i walked out).

Try Madison Honda in Madison. They had a silver/red, but will order you what you want for MSRP.

Doug, I believe your nearest dealer has one, Bob Ciasulli in Jersey City. Drove by there last night and I think I saw a yellow one in the showroom. I definitely know they have 2 silvers and 1 white in the back because I stopped to check it out. They don't have the best prices though.

HobokenDoug,

Mahwah Honda in Mahwah NJ had two Spa Yellow ones on their lot a couple of weeks ago and claimed to be selling at MSRP. http://www.mahwahhonda.com

Kea Honda in Nanuet NY was supposed to be getting at least one Spa Yellow one in and they were also selling at MSRP.

P.S.

Doug,

I just checked my link and Mahwah Honda sold both of the yellow ones and one of the silver ones they had.

Doug,

Friendly Honda in Poughkisie, NY has also come highly recommended. They supposedly only sell at MSRP or better. I don't have a number but it should be easily obtainable.

looked at a yellow stook in Tenafly.

The new question is...

what's a decent trade in price?

my 2000 has 6000 miles on it sliver/red

Doug,

I did some checking. . . Unfortunately, because of limited turnover, KBB.com doesn't have any info on the trade-in value of an 2000 S2000. They also didn't have the data on a 2000 Type-R (similar limited production vehicle).

However, they did have the following info on the Prelude SH (not quite the same, but it should give you a starting point)

New 2001 SH $26,540 MSRP (with dest.)
Retail 2000 SH $25,850
Trade-In Value of Used 2000 SH $21,895 (approximately 82% of the value of a new 2001). . .

IMO, the differential between a used S2K with 6K miles should be significantly less because the car is still in high demand. Also, remember, the dealer will probably be able to sell a used S2K for at least $30K Therefore, I would recommend not taking anything less than 90% of its value, $29.4K (especially since you'll be paying MSRP for the new one). . .

Doug, if you want, send me a PM. . . I've been dealing with D&C for years, and I might be able to tell you who you should talk to. . .

Good Luck.

Doug, check out a thread in the group buys and for sell section, there's a dealer in North Dakota selling a brand new yellow for 2000 under MSRP. Not to suggest you can get a similar deal here in the northeast, but you should be thinking of below MSRP now. I have absolutely no idea of what our cars are worth but does anyone know what Rosso's S2K finally went for ? I read he finally sold it but it took a LONG time to sell. Private sell is the way to go if you want to maximize the value of your car and if you don't mind the time and effort, but trade-in is the hassle-free way.
