Default help lots of wind noise

he guys, I have already done the search thing, so dont grill me for this post, but I feel that I have an unsual roar of wind noise when my soft top is up. I have an 01 with 55,000 miles on it. It seems as though the top is not pulled down to the windshield tight enough, because if I take my hand and pull ianyt down while Im driving it the noise quiets down to an acceptable noise level. Anyway if you can help me or give me any suggestions I would greatly appreciate it.

Get some aquarium tubing and cut a 1" section and slip it over the "finger" part of the latch. It is only a temporary fix, as the tubing will fatigue over time and you'll need to replace it. But hey, the stuff sells for about 15cents/ft, so no big deal.

For a more permamnent fix, contact "hardtopguy" and order some strikers for the hardtop. The are thicker than the OEM/stock ones and pull the top down a bit further. Same effect, but $40 instead of pennies.

Your call.

Okay, here's the issue. I had the same problem w/ the wind noise. Loud as hell. There is a TSB on the original striker plates. Take it to your dealer and tell them about the TSB (better yet, print it out and take it in to them). They will put hard top striker plats in and it'll be back to normal. After that, w/ the top up, it's soooooo quite. You can actually hear yourself think again.

I got mine replaced under the warranty (have the 5yr, 100,000 mi), but if yours is out of warranty, you might get a good faith replacement.

Hope it works for you.

It is hit and miss with the warranty coverage. I had the Hondacare extended warranty and I got rejected. Others have had it done, no problem.

Honda is very inconsistent.
