i have a comptech.. gives the car a good sound but not so sure about any gains at all.. 4-5000 rpms is just amazing.. so im thinking maybe some mid-range? overall a great intake

The fit and finish of the comptech leaves much to be desired. It has hood rubbing issues on the carbon airbox lid and it has a reputation for buzzing like a basket of bumblebees. It also comes with a foam filter which will degrade over time and start to crumble especially with regular cleaning and re- oiling. I'm a big fan of the short ram K&N.

I have the FIPK and I love it. Very easy and clean install, noticable performance gain, looks great, and sounds AMAZING. Throttle response is alot better, pulls alot better outside of VTEC, pulls very hard in VTEC. I love it, and would recommend it to anyone. K&N

I say go for the K&N. It has a great sound to it, has some midrange power, has a million mile warranty on the filter, and most of all it is one of the cheapest intakes out there with equal if not better performance then all the others! I love my K&N

K&N is a great choice: good power, nice sound, and low price. I liked both you are deciding between and went with the Comptech because basically it looks cooler. I am very happy with my choice but I am switching out the foam filter for a nice cotton-gauze AFE (similar to K&N) filter. If the appearance doesn't matter to you, get the K&N. If you want the carbon fiber underhood bling, get the Comptech. Both will yeild similar gains since they draw air from the same location and are shielded from the hot engine bay air.

Take off the stock airbox and drive around. Run it up into Vtec a couple times. If you like the sound, buy the FIPK. If it's a little too loud, but Comptech (suposedly it's quieter).

The Comptech will be a bit quieter since its a small enclosed box.
