HELP ME DECIDE!
both of them are Excellent cars, my dad has a 350z and i own a S. the S is MUCH more of a thrill/weekend car, it has better interior, and it handles better, but the Z is faster, gets more attention (but theres more Z's than S's), more torque, and in my opinion looks slightly better. i can't really say which one i would choose, but you can't go wrong with either one.
Another downside to the Z - they just guzzle the gas when compared to the S. (I have both)
I hadn't realized that until gas got to over $3 a gal and then got to noticing. Most of my driving is in town and the Z is much worse than my S.
On the Hwy it seems to get pretty much the same as the S. Maybe not quite as good, but minimal difference, but around town it's another story altogether.
I am finding that I park the Z - A LOT.

idk... for me i only like the front of the 350z.... but with the s2000 i like it all around. my rents own the 350z........ i get to drive both but when it comes down to it, I ALWAYS PICK MY S2K. ( by the way both cars are convertible)
I think I've said this before but IMO, put 3 holes in the 350Z's fenders, and you could easily pass this car off as a sporty Buick.
If you think you'd like a sporty Buick, I think your going to love the 350Z even without the holes.

I see this thread come up quite often...ever notice that one car is a real car where the top comes off and the other is just a fast mommy wagon ?
The 2 cars are like night and day, how can your decision be down to these 2 cars they are so different.
Mike
P.S. now if you are talking Z convertible which you did not mention, then ignore me.

These cars are very different. My good friend has a 350Z and I had (and will soon HAVE AGAIN) an S2000.
The 350Z has a lot of torque and feels quick off the line, however, it feels very heavy compared to the S2000.
The 350Z also lacks so of the uniqueness of the S2000. For example, the engine of the 350Z is used in several other Nissan/Infiniti products. The S2000 engine is only used in the S2000. There are also a lot of 350Z's out there.
I also think that the 350Z is so heavy that to make it sporty they had to use a very stiff suspension where the S2000 has an appropriate suspension that wasn't just cranked up to "11" to make it handle.
The 350Z does have more interior space which is nice. However, the interior is very low-rent. Granted the S2000 isn't a Ferrari inside, but the interior of the S2000 feels well thought out and well constructed.
I think you should drive both several times, back to back if possible. Maybe at someplace like a CarMax and make a decision that way.
Also, the S2000 will get better gas mileage.
