Help!!! Need the code to make my cd player work
The code to make the radio work is a FIVE digit number that as far as I know isn't in the car anywhere. That wouldn't make much sense. The sticker on the main console door is the serial # of the radio.
OK. I've read all the posts about the code and SN for the radio. My situation is: I have a working radio. There are no stickers. After calling 4 dealers, I have found the original dealer and they did not record the codes, so that leaves me 2 options.
One service manager told me if I disconnected the battery on my 2002, then reconnected, I should be able to then do the 1-6 button trick to get the code. It won't work if the code is already set and the radio is currently working. I am reluctant to try this as the radio is currently working fine.
Second option is to remove the radio myself to save the $55 to $70 the dealer wants to remove the radio to get the S/N. Anyone have instructions on how to remove the radio myself? Thanks!

Aeropave2, here go to this link and follow the instructions:

This should take you about 5-10 minutes to do. After you remove the radio, go to the nearest Honda dealer and give the radio to the Parts person. They should be able to look up the code for the radio. They'll will also give you a new card with the code. This should also not cost a thing.
I should know, I just recently had to do this. The previous owner did not have the radio code when I purchased the car.
Hope it helps.

I did this just a few weeks ago. It's easy to take the radio out. Got the serial number off of the back of the radio and called the local honda dealer along with my vin. They called back with the code after entering it in the "honda computer". Punched it in and it worked.
