you my friend are an absolute idiot!!! don't talk about things you don't know..since the test pipe is literally a freaking pipe...nothing mechanical about it..how the hell would that do anything to his engine...next time don't speak and you'll help us all out.
Funny thing, but I'm the one who is right and you are the one who is wrong ... even if I am an "absolute idiot" in your opinion.

ANY mods to the drivetrain, whether they cause the actual problem or not, are enough to cause these aftermarket extended warranties to not pay out. Read the fine print on the warranty.

Since I'm a firm believer that grammar, syntax, punctuation, and spelling are good indicators I'm pretty sure I've got a handle on whose IQ may be a bit substandard.

Please try to calm down and have a good day.

According to the "mythology" of s2ki, engines made after engine # 1025386 (mid-year change for 2002) have the new bolts.

Out of curiosity did you buy your S2000 used or new? It would be interesting to learn what your engine number is...

Markk
FWIW, it was new and VIN is sub 800 FYM 2003. I helped with the PID and removed the plastic. This was a replacement from my MY01.

And yes, I was there when they took the bolts off and scoped the #4 cylinder

Honda stepped up and replaced motor.

In term of paying you $5K to fix your car no, but if it was mine then yes. I paid invoice for the car and paid it off then loan years ago.

If your car is consuming the majority of your income, then you may need to rethink your priorities.

1. You are born
2. You go to school
3. Get higher education (optional but a really good recommendation)
4. Get a job to pay for number 3 and taxes
5. Work smarter and harder for the next 30 years (save aggressively and pay more taxes)
6. Retire (this is an option that you should have had in mind on day one of step 4; pay taxes)
7. Pass on (pay taxes)

I hate to say it, but you are a crooked mechanic's wet dream. You just seem so clueless. Sorry.

IMO, what you really need is to find a trustworthy and skilled mechanic and just dump the whole thing in his/her lap. Unfortunately, that's pretty hard to find.
Jsy22, looks like you're in the Atlanta area. If you need a new engine don't let the dealer do the work. There is a very well respected and fair shop just North of Atlant in Suwanee. Look up Blake Automotive just off I-85 & Lawrenceville Suwanee Rd exit. He's an S2000 owner, does great work, and has more experience working on S2000's than anyone else in the business. He replaced Modifry's engine just a few months ago.

Good luck with your repair.

I knew from your previous post and your response to Mike that you were new here. In the first place, it is considered to be bad form to attack other members; We can disagree and correct one another without being nasty. You also need to read more carefully before correcting someone. Mike said that the INCIDENT (that is, the problem with the dealership) was the result of mods, not that the engine failure was the result of the mods. In that he is absolutely correct, so how do you think it looks when someone calls him an idiot for stathing something which is so obviously true? (I'd tell you how it looks, but we're suppose to be nice to each other. )

Just relax and don't get hot under the collar before getting your own ducks in a row.

Get an independent automotive engineer on the case. The good ones will investigate the problem and provide a written diagnosis and act as an expert witness if it ever goes to court.

In my experience, as soon as an automotive engineer gets involved the BS from the dealer stops as they know your next step is most likely with lawyers.

I had a claim against a hotel that stripped reverse gear in my car while parking it. The automotive engineer they hired actually reported in my favour and they paid for the damage

good luck

Have you had a test pipe on the car with a mechanical o2 simulator?
