Last night me and my buddies decided to go out for a little run...just a minimal of 5 cars. For fun of course! Nothing serious...I just recently had my v-tec controller dyno'd and tuned with aem cold air intake, dc headers, and jic exhaust. I was really eager to see how fast my car was. The car i was running against, was a 91 toyota mr2 2nd gen turbo motor, with an upgrad intercooler and jdm exhaust. He beat me by half a car and that was at the lauch...the whole time i only half a car behind him...I tried shifting as fast as I could at every 9 rpm, but unfortunately i was unable to pass him. Can someone please help me on this problem??

What i basically did was rev up to about 5500 or 6000 rpm and dropped the clutch. Am i doing it right or is there a better way to launch an s2000...

I usually launch at 7,500 if it's a race that actually means something(for money or on video), I wouldln't do it too often though.

 

What did the MR2 have?

 

I have tried launching at 7000 rpm and my tires spin like crazy its not even funny...

 

the mr2 had a j-spec 2nd gen turbo motor...with an upgrade intercooler and exhaust.
