HELP!!!! Spoon rear brace...

There are no instructions, where does the rear-bar go? Does it replace the stock wimpy looking bar that is there now?
if so, there are no bolt holes to mount the heat shield that is protecting some plastic box in the left rear of the car.
Please help!
