help!- spring installation-
i posted a thread about pep boys not willing to install new set of springs i got.
https://www.s2ki.com/forums/showthread.php?...?threadid=33337
so i went down to my "usual" auto body/ shop and hired them to install the springs for me, but here's my question-
they said they had to take off the whole suspension out of the car, put the spring out/ in and reassemble the suspension, taking about 5 hours.
i thought you could easily do it under 3 hours without taking the car apart? many friends of mine who have tones of mods on their imports go there and have great recommendations/ experience towards that shop, so i'm very confused now.

oh, by the way... i raced this gsx-r a couple of months ago and bottomed out, scratching underside of the front bumper- this shop that i'm talking about refinished that scratched surface for me, and did a great job with really unexpected low labor fee. so i trust this shop but, what they told me today about springs is so different from what i heard from this board, so i'm really confused.
depends if they do it the "recommended" way or the way that works. if you do a search on installing the springs you will notice there are different ways of installing them.
removing the suspension - have you looked to see where the springs are? these are coil overs man - so it depends what you mean by all of the suspension.

you need to remove the wheel, unbolt the shock and spring from the body, and the control arm, remove it, compress the springs with a spring compressor, unbolt the cover holding the spring, replace the spring, and work your way back. You'll have to do that for all 4 corners.
