One of the photos on the website for the new 2002 car shows an extension on the intake of the airbox that extends out over the radiator quite a bit furthur than the current one. It's been speculated that it was an improvement on the new model year, but when I went to the dealer to look at the new car it was the same as our intake. Does anyone have any knowledge of what this piece is? Japan market only, aftermarket Japanese?

This has come up before on this forum, don't remember the thread but you could search for it. (There's some discussion of its efficaciousness there as well.)

It's either an aftermarket or prototype, not a stock item.

It's a JDM modulo accessory, is it useful? No not really, there is basically no difference. I think it's just for looks, I've got one sitting in my garage than I took off when I installed my Spoon CAI instead.
