Default Help! T1R STB

Moderators, I cross-posted this in S2000 Talk to get more traffic to my question. Please lock it if you feel this is inappropriate.

Please read my post (pictures inside) in the Mid-Atlantic Forum:
https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=425795

Cliffnote version:
Bought the STB on eBay.
Paid via Paypal with my credit card.
Received STB with broken box.
Missing hardwares and instructions. <-- separate issue.
Poor quality welds on STB + missing T1R sticker = my suspicion of a fake.

Correct me if I am wrong. Then I won't buy another T1R product.

$285 Canadian dollars, shipped.

Made the decision based on the 99.7% positive feedback on the seller. Should've known never to trust eBay ratings.

Sounds fake...

then again, T1R is just a knockoff of the ASM STB

Return it if you don't like it... Do you have pictures?

I just might return the thing, but I have to get the seller to reply to my emails. Missing hardware = unable to install = defective product? I wonder if my credit card company will go for this approach. At least I don't have to pay shipping twice!

Could be a factory reject due to weld quality. Sold at huge discount to after market retailers which they re-sell at a discount. Just a guess though.

the welds in all the pics but the 4th are okay.

the ones at the x junction are mig or arc welds over broken tigs....you can see two distinct heat stains.
