HELP! Top Cover Stuck
The cover for my convertible top is stuck. The two metal nubs that fit into the holes in the cover will not release. I've tried wedging it free with a screw driver, but moderate pressure will not do the trick. I don't want to damage it with undue force. Is there a release button somewhere. I don't have my owner's manual here with me, so any help would be greatly appreciated.
you have to tilt the back up, while the front is still snapped, reach underneath, and pull the little metal snaps. This is how it should be done. Those metal snaps on the underside are what keeps to cover from flying off at high speeds.

Thanks for the responses. I'm glad I didn't tear them off in frustration. How does Honda expect most average sized folks to be able to reach in and release the cover? One needs to be a contortionist with small hands and arms. Aside from this design flaw, I've found the cover to be very quick to put on and take off, especially after being exposed to the sun for half a day. Much easier, stable and durable than the covers on my Miata or Alfa Romeo. I'll continue using it to protect the top against dirt and UV, but I wish Honda had come up with the cover-less Z folding design used in the Boxster and the new Miata. Either that, or a light-weight hinged lid would have made more sense.
When I first got my s, I couldn't beleive with all the things that I loved about the car, how f$#@^%ed up the boot was to take off. I have pretty big hands, and could never get enough leverage w/ my fingers to release (pull) the snaps from the back, because I had to force my hands just to get them into the space.
The discovery I made (after using a chisel to pry the release button from the back a couple times; no damage thank god) is that when you put the top down, when it's 3/4 down, push the cross rib (topmost) so it flips down, not back. this gives plenty of room for hands. When releasing the snaps, it actually helps if you push in the direction like you were putting it on while sliding release back.Again, impossible if cross rib is in way; easy if it's flipped down.
Good luck,
Bing
P.S. Knowing how to puton/ take off, I use mine all the time(daily) Doesn't take 3 minutes to put on or off, and I think the car looks way cleaner w/ it on. my .02

boot? the s2k comes with a boot.....
haha yeh I never use mine either. To much of a hassle when your on the go and need to put the top down in parking lot or at work etc. Its been in storage for almost 2 years. I'll just include it when I'm done with my s2k someday.

Ricks2k is working on a fiberglass version that will (hopefully) split into 3 pieces for easy storage in the trunk. They already have a test vehicle in for fitting for the master mold (i think).
I think it will look like the VeilSide one, but not as dramatic (huge tunnels and the big step down).
