BTW, I think this is a wonderful change -- a newbie forum is really a smart way to help folks out. There used to be a dealer checklist somewhere (included things like spring spacer removal....), but I haven't been able to find that in years. I'd recommend bringing that back.

I'd also recommend a pinned "Warnings!" thread containing the oil usage and cold tire issues with the car (and possibly Colin's tire replacement size).

Finally, winter storage and winter driving tips should be linked to somewhere.

First bit of advice for new owners should be: "RTFM!"

Ed, so true, except that the manual is often stowed in the secret compartment, and they don't even know where that is!!!!!

We have to be careful and draw a line somewhere where Introductions stops and s2k talk / UTH / all the other forums start

I think it should be very BASIC information, and a hello I am new, kind of place, where people say hi, and get directed and helped to where they need to go etc

Was just thinking, we should sort of give a pictorial of all the important (but tricky) locations on the car. Fuel filler button, oil dipstick (it's shape confuses people), explain how reverse requires push down on the stick...

Oh, and a warning to drop the Al hood rather than press it down.

Well I've been closing the hood right although the dealer never mentioned it. Of course I've always dropped the hood on every car I've owned. I'm drinking all this good stuff in as fast as I can. (bought a 05 S last Friday) Keep up the good work and THANKS!!
