Help us develop a newbie guide
The cool thing is.. chazmo has a good handle on this new forum concept, willing to work on it in his spare time. And the best part is.......................... I get to do other things that help run the site

What do you guys/gals think would be a good way to present this information to newbies? I'm thinking of a sticky thread that just contains a blurb followed by a link to a thread somewhere (kind of like my signature)...
Can you think of a better way to present all this?

hey guys..i'm looking to buy an s2k soon and this newbies faq will be great for guys like me.
stuff that has been going through my mind are
ap1 vs ap2
years and colors

general maintenance information should be in another section imo just b/c whether you're a newbie or not, you might be new to doing the work
just my 2 cents

I don't own an s2k yet, but here is what I have found out while researching. I may be missing things, but here are some.
In 2000,
black, red, white, and silverstone were available
In 2001, yellow was added
In 2002, sebring silver replaced silverstone, and suzuka blue was offered in addition to other colors. Also, honda...
1. made the transmission stronger
2. upgraded the stereo system (I believe with the addition of door speakers)
3. Added chrome embezzlements to the tailights
4. Added leather to the center console and shifter
5. Replaced the plastic rear window with glass (with defroster)
In 2003,
1. Silverstone made a comeback (sebring silver stayed)
2. Black and Tan interior was offered on the white (instead of the all red)
In 2004, basic colors remained same, with some shades changing slightly. Also...
1. displacement increased from 2.0 to 2.2 liters, upping torque from 153 to 161 lb-ft
2. peak horspower occurs at 7800 (instead of 8300), while peak torque appears at 6500 (instead of 7500)
3. 17 inch multi-spoke rims instead of 16 in. 5-spoke (also with wider tires)
4. revised suspension (keeps back end more stable)
Hope this helps!

I think that some basic information on performance mods might be something to consider for this newb forum. Nothing terribly extensive of course (thats what UTH and the "talk" forums are for), but many folks new to the forum (and the car) come looking for advice on which intake, exhaust, ECU, etc is the best first mod. I think a lot of newbies don't realize the fact that this car doesn't respond as greatly to simple bolt-on's as other cars due to its rather high state of tune from the factory. This could help clarify things for someone steeping up to an S from something like an Integra, and hoping to see 10-15hp gains from an intake alone!
Just a thought.

Craig, that would be fine (I'm moderator for that forum). If you a good way to organize that information, or perhaps a list of threads that I should point people to, that'd be much appreciated.
Many people have already asked about first mods. in the Intro forum.
